Christmas Presents for 2013

As always my sweet family gets me fun things for the basement.  Let's see what we got this year!

First a new Olfa mat, much larger than the others that I have and perfect for the construction workbench.

Needle files!  I got two packs...but one is lost somewhere in the wrapping paper chaos upstairs.  I needed these really bad.

My daughter gave me two new X-acto knives.  Mine are wearing out.

Green and black felt.  I use felt for lots of things; from keep models from scratching, to covering the underneath of a display, to small item photo backdrops.

Finally, a new Dremel tool.  My old one is dead after 25 years of hard work.  The battery operated one I got a few years ago just never made the cut.  So I'm glad to get a new one.

Cutting tools!  Always handy with a new Dremel!

Wow!  I'm so happy!  I've always wanted a Panavise...now I have one.  There is a cheap, green knock-off at my desk, but its just not the same.  I'll get much use out of it.

And a clamping base so I can move it around or take it to the layout.

Lastly, a present for me.  My On2 Gilpin Tram Car Kit from Grandt Line came in.  Surely I can get time to assemble it this week.

  1. Scott: I noticed on your Christmas gift list you have the 8 drawer wood tool chest from Harbor Freight. I have one and love it. In our local newspaper, yesterday, Harbor Freight had a coupon flyer and one of the coupons was for the wood tool chest @ $59.99 !!!!. It is valid until 4/29/14, in store or ordering on line/phone. If you have not seen this coupon, I would be glad to send you mine, if you let me know your mailing address- the price is too good to pass up!
