Three things for cars.
On flat cars make sure you make your own stake pockets, easily done in O
scale. Make your own brake cylinders as well. Distress the boards on
the deck and in some cases make O scale nails where the boards have
broken away, simple to do with some very thin wire.
It is Ohio River and Western, not Ohio and Western. Check out the cars
as they may have Eames brakes rather then air brakes.
Scratchbuilding. keep a count of your parts and the commercial parts
you use. percentage of commercial to other parts gives you the amount
that is scratchbuilt.
